Basic Champagne Types & Terms:
Blanc de Blanc - “White of Whites” made from white grapes
Brüt -Very Dry
Extra Dry -Fairly Dry
Rosé - Dry, pink in color, made with Pinot Noir grape
Demi Sec - Medium Dry, quite sweet
Spumante - Typically very sweet. Italian for “sparkling”.
Temperature- Chill at least 20-30 minutes in a mixture of 1/2 ice and 1/2 water or refrigerate for 2-3 hours (45°F)
Opening the Bottle

Chill Well
Do Not Shake
Peel away foil
Point bottle away from self and others
Remove Hood
Hold bottle at 45° angle
Hold base or center of bottle firmly and slowly twist the stopper out
Always point bottle away from self and other to avoid serious eye injury.
Stopper may eject forcefully while you are removing the hood or at any time after hood removal. Bottle contains high pressure which increases with warmth or shaking.
